How to Create Pixel Art from an Image

Upload Your Image

Click the "Upload Image" button or drag and drop an image onto the upload area. You can also paste an image from clipboard using Ctrl+V.

Adjust Pixelation Settings

Use the sliders on the left panel to adjust the pixel size, color fidelity, and choose your preferred pixel shape. Larger pixel sizes create a more blocky effect, while smaller sizes retain more detail.

Select Area to Pixelate (Optional)

If you want to pixelate only a specific area, click the "Draw" button under Local Pixelation and drag on the image to create a selection. You can choose between rectangle, circle, or free-form shapes.

Refine Your Selection

After drawing the selection area, you can click and drag it to reposition. If you need to redraw, click the "Clear" button and then draw again.

Apply Filters (Optional)

Choose from various filters like Grayscale, Vintage, or Gaussian Blur to enhance your pixelated image. You can also adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation to achieve the desired effect.

Download Your Result

When you're satisfied with the result, click the "Download" button to save your pixelated image. You can choose between PNG, JPG, or WEBP formats.

For censoring sensitive information, use a large pixel size (25-50) and apply to small targeted areas.
For artistic effects, try combining different pixel shapes with color filters.
The Edge Smoothing option creates a more blended effect between pixels - great for artistic applications.
Use pixel size 0 to disable pixelation while applying other effects like filters or color adjustments.
Try converting images to pixel art with different pixel sizes to find the right balance between detail and pixelation.
To create authentic 8-bit style art, reduce the color fidelity to around 20-30%.
